The safe way to add electrical accessories is with Painless Performance Cirkit Boss kits, the first circuit isolators that provide both constant and ignition hot circuits. Instead of tapping into an existing wire or spare circuit at the fuse block, Cirkit Boss kits are add-on, relay-activated fuse blocks, activated by a small wire from any ignition source. Cirkit Boss kits protect bulbs, accessories, and computers from the harmful spikes that may occur in a poorly connected power supply. All Cirkit Boss units are made using TXL cross link polyurethane wire rated to 275 degrees F at 600V, and they include a 30 amp inline circuit breaker, a relay, mounting hardware, and an assortment of terminals. Circuits are individually fused for up to 20 amp applications and use a heavy duty 30 amp relay. All wires are machine-terminated for reliability.

What the Future Holds, Nobody Knows

Tue, 22 Dec 2009

It's a testament to the talent, charisma and relative celebrity of Ian Callum, Derek Jenkins and Franz von Holzhausen - heads of Jaguar, Mazda and Tesla design, respectively - that they managed to captivate a crowd of industry insiders at the tail end of the Los Angeles Auto Show's second press-preview day. This despite being given a nebulous topic to discuss with a moderator who knew little about the subject. Dan Lyons, a technology columnist at Newsweek, oversaw the panel discussion that was to focus on "Tomorrow's Cars...Practical Transportation or Groundbreaking Design?" He asked only one question on that topic before digressing into a more general discourse on the design strategies of Jaguar, Mazda and Tesla.

Team Lotus snaps up Caterham +video

Wed, 27 Apr 2011

Team Lotus buys Caterham Cars - and a Team Lotus Special Edition Seven to celebrate Team Lotus – that’s the ‘Lotus’ F1 run by Tony Fernandes, not the Hethel mob run by Dany Bahar – has bought Caterham Cars from Corven Ventures for an undisclosed sum. Which is all very apposite, what with Caterham being the spiritual home of Colin Chapman’s Lotus Seven and keeper of the Chapman ethos of lighter is better. To tie Caterham back in to the Lotus name could work wonders for sales.

One of the things that's fun about online "build and price" tools is picking a car, choosing all the most expensive options, then standing back in stunned amazement at the price of the car you've built. "HOLY COW! A $280,000 PORSCHE BOXSTER.
