Ford prices new 2012 Focus ST from £21,995

Ford has confirmed prices for the new Focus ST. The new 247bhp hot hatch will cost from £21,995 for the hatchback, or £23,095 for the Focus ST estate. That undercuts the VW Golf GTI, which has bumped up in price in recent years to a stout £25,330 despite having a more modest 207bhp. It also makes it better value than the £26,995 Vauxhall Astra VXR and Renaultsport Megane RS 265 at £24,840.

College Exhibition: Coventry Degree Show 2006

Transportation and product design students at Coventry University in England recently displayed their work in the school's summer degree show, one of the two graduation shows per year. A total of 74 students graduated in various fields including Automotive Design, Transport and Product Design, Vehicle Design, Boat Design and Consumer Product Design. With such a large body of graduating students, Coventry have wisely chosen to introduce a separate 'Selected Works' show this year for industry guests, which also opened to the public for one week at the end of June.

Jail term and driving ban for King

FOOTBALLER Marlon King has been jailed for 18 months for dangerous driving after a crash which left a motorist with a broken arm. The striker, currently without a club after being released by Sheffield United last year, had pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving at Nottingham Crown Court in March. Sentencing King at the same court today, Recorder Paul Mann QC said: "I do not regard your case as merely impulsive or silly behaviour.
