Nissan Juke-R is one step closer with seats and dashboard: Video
Wed, 09 Nov 2011Seat fitting and ergonomics aren't the most fun part of a custom job, but they're plenty important. For instance, in the sixth installment of the Nissan Juke-R conversion, the guys from Nissan are putting in FIA-approved seats, a dash panel, steering wheel and pedals. The process involved finding a good driving position, which is one of the main feedback points for the driver.
Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept
Wed, 26 Sep 2012This is the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept – a Porsche Panamara Shooting Brake Hybrid – headed for a Paris 2012 debut. There have been rumours for some time that Porsche was going to build a shooting brake version of the Panamera -we reported it would be at Paris 2012 back in July – and on the eve of the Paris Motor Show we get the proof – the first photos of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept. The Panamera Sport looks like it’s got some sort of hybrid powertrain, although we have no details yet from Porsche.
VW Taigun Compact SUV heading for production
Tue, 23 Apr 2013It was a good-looking and appealing effort from VW to tap in to the very compact SUV market, with a real family look (a Tiguan on a boil wash), peppy little 3-cylinder 1.0 litre engine delivering 108bhp and a 0-62mph of 9.2 seconds (with 60mpg economy) and enough room to carry stuff and people thanks to an extra 50mm in the wheelbase compared to the Up! Now it looks like the Taigun is heading for production after VW’s Chief designer, Klaus Bishoff, told Autoexpress that he deeply believed the Taigun would be heading for VW showrooms very soon, and could be sold in the UK and Europe as well as in emerging markets. So you can add the Taigun to the list of VW’s SUV offerings, and with new versions of the Tiguan and Touareg (perhaps based on the CrossBlue Concept) and a Polo based SUV on the way too, it looks like VW are covering all the bases.
