Hagerty contest seeks America's sweetest lemon for Concours d'LeMons

Our friends at Hagerty Insurance will be taking online submissions for a contest seeking America's best off-the-wall car. The “Sweetest LeMon” gets a free trip to the 2011 Concours d'LeMons. In contrast to the prestigious events and careful selections for the Monterey Classic Car Week, the third-annual LeMons event spotlights quirky and unusual cars chosen on a whim.

Chris Bangle begins work with Changan Automobile on its design strategy and methodology

Chris Bangle is to consult with Changan Automobile to help develop its design strategy and processes in his first official automotive project since leaving BMW in 2009. Bangle – through his company Chris Bangle Associates (CBA) – will work with Changan's team in its European design center in Turin, Italy, reporting to design director Chen Zheng. And while his role will be linked to the brand's Chinese products, his focus will be on the design team's methodologies and philosophy; its management and its process of critique, rather than the hands-on design of its products.

RSPB adopts electric car technology

THE RSPB is moving to reduce its carbon footprint by taking delivery of a new Renault Zoe electric car. The white-painted Zoe will join a Kangoo Z.E. at the charity’s Bedfordshire base, with another of the all-electric Kangoos based in London.
