Brand NEW Item - Perrin Front Control Arm Brace for Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S
Item color: Black

Description:

The PERRIN control arm braces are CNC machined from 6061 Aluminum making these parts much stiffer than the stock part. The stock pieces are designed to work for a stock car under normal type conditions. Under heavy braking, the front control arm main pivot flexes, causing changes to your alignment. After upgrades like stickier tires, brakes or stiffer suspension bushings, the OEM brace doesn't cut it when pushing your car to the limits.  The stock stamped braces are made from steel and painted black. This is a very inexpensive way to make a part like this but it comes at the expense of weight. A set of these are lighter than the factory part by .305 pounds while still being much stiffer!

Feds: Backup cameras in all new cars by 2018

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

The U.S. Department of Transportation today finalized a set of federal standards for rear visibility that will require all new vehicles under 10,000 pounds to have backup cameras by mid-2018. Congress called for the rules in 2008 after a spate of accidents in which parents driving cars or trucks backed over their young children, killing them.

The scramble for scarce tires

Mon, 27 Jun 2011

North American automakers are struggling with a nagging shortage of tires, caused in part by tire plant closings and rising demand for low-volume specialty tires. Automakers are paying much higher prices -- double-digit percentage increases from a year ago -- as tire makers gain pricing power. "We have been bombarded from every side for additional tires, and we can't keep up," said David O'Donnell, Continental Tire's vice president of original equipment in the Americas.

Lexus LF-NX Concept Compact SUV with 2.0 litre turbo petrol at Tokyo

Lexus LF-NX Concept Compact SUV (pictured) with 2.0 litre turbo petrol at Tokyo The Lexus LF-NX Concept debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and certainly made a statement. Lexus’ efforts to create an SUV/Crossover to sit below the RX and mop up some of the ever-growing demand for more compact SUVs tried hard to do the whole ‘Ugly but appealing’ school of design the Nissan Juke pulled off, but pretty much failed. There were some good ideas running around, but there were just too many jarring angles on the bodywork and not enough cuteness to love and the interior was very ‘concepty’ with a sea of blue and yellow everything and touchscreen surfaces abounding.
