Record Breaker Roars Again

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

WEDNESDAY 29th January will go down in history as the day Sir Malcolm Campbell’s record breaking 350hp Sunbeam was fired up and heard in public for the first time in over 50 years. The historic event followed a complete rebuild by the National Motor Museum’s workshop team. As the brainchild of Sunbeam’s chief engineer and racing team manager, Louis Coatalen, the car was constructed during 1919 and early 1920 and power came from an aero engine, a type used on naval seaplanes.

First McLaren P1 customer cars delivered & specs and performance confirmed

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

First McLaren P1 customer cars delivered With McLaren starting production of the P1 earlier this month, and the P1 has now starting to arrive in the hands of real customers (which, it appears, is more than Ferrari can manage with LaFerrari) with it comes confirmation of the immense performance the P1 offers. The 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds is impressive enough, but the 0-124mph of just 6.8 seconds, quarter mile of 9.8 seconds (at 152mph terminal speed) and a limited top speed of 217mph makes the new P1 astonishingly quick. If we look at the P1′s rivals claims for performance, LaFerrariu comes close with (vague) promises from Ferrari of a 0-62mph under 3 seconds and a 0-124mph if under 7 seconds.

2015 Cadillac Escalade interior revealed

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Cadillac teased the new Escalade last week, but today's shot is an uncamouflaged look at the interior, giving us a good idea of what the new luxo-barge will look like from the driver's seat. Caddy says the new interior combines handcrafted elements with new technology, using the company's cut-and-sew technique. The central part of the instrument cluster looks similar to other current Cadillacs with the CUE system and swipe-touch buttons.
