You can also clip it to other surfaces in your cockpit such as your visor, glareshield, or seat belts. It adds just the right amount of RED light for improved reading of your sectional maps, approach plates, or even your airplane instruments. They weigh less than one ounce and operate on three button batteries that are easily purchased anywhere. Just press the button on the rear of the lamp and the light turns on and off. We've used these headlamps for night flying and they are a life-saver. The red light is used to relax the pupil and allow you to retain your night vision at its maximum.
