Set of 5 Pirelli 215-70R-15 ZR rated performance tires for high speed touring coupes and sports cars.  I installed these new on a 1972 Jaguar V12 E Type in about 2005 and removed them 5 years later for the original whitewalls. They were driven (to shows and occasionally dinner) gently and sparingly. There are less than 5000 miles on 4 of these tires!  One tire (the spare) has never been on the ground.  They are quiet, smooth and grippy.  Measure tread depths range from 0.212" (7/32") on the outside of  a front tire to 0.274" (abt. 9/32") on the new (spare).  They have been stored in my climate-controlled, mostly dark basement for about 6 years and are in fantastic shape. Sold as a set only.

'Camaro Brothers' ride on

Fri, 23 Dec 2011

It was supposed to be a nice, mild-mannered going-to-school car that twin brothers Tom and Kent Ng would share. But it didn't take long for the Houston residents' hot-rod tendencies to get the better of them and raise the ire of their father. "We tried to modify it immediately," Tom said.

Nissan Leaf recall could force replacement of entire car

Tue, 20 May 2014

Nissan is recalling a total of 211 examples of the the Leaf pure-electric car supplied to the U.S., and another 65 Leafs sold in Canada for a problem involving missing spot welds in the motor compartment. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that the front structural member assemblies in these cars could be missing welds in several crucial places, to the left and right of the electric motor. As a result, the affected Leafs might not perform well in a crash.

Andy Saunders sells 'Art Cars' collection

Tue, 04 Nov 2008

British 'car artist' Andy Saunders' 'Art Car' collection was sold by RM Auctions in London, UK on October 29, along with a selection of classic cars and a McLaren F1 that sold for £2.5 million - a new world record. Though lacking the quality of many Californian custom cars when seen close up, the Art Cars were fascinating to see, and unlike other custom car creators, Saunders has made almost all of the cars for himself; conceiving and creating the cars without any design process beyond thinking them through and getting his hands dirty in evenings after work.  Each of the cars introduced new themes not evident in their donor designs and, within the context of many salubrious but established classic car designs at the auction, they had a powerful quixotic appeal. So why is he selling them?
