This whale tail decklid came off of a very original very low mile early air-cooled 911. Since it was taken off the decklid portion of the spoiler has been beautifully refinished in guards red and ceramic coated for longevity. This is not fiberglass and not a knockoff. This is a very original and very well cared for piece of air-cooled history.
Brand:Porsche Warranty:No Placement on Vehicle:Rear Country/Region of Manufacture:Germany Surface Finish:Guards Red Make:Porsche

"First used in series production on the 1975 Carrera, the Whaletail spoiler changed in detail on the 911 Cars. The most noticeable difference is the deep black flexible part of the spoiler itself and a further revision in 1982 meant that the centre section was now to be built up on its top surface, like the turbo version, and the underside was cut back." -Original Porsche 911 copyright 1995

This beautiful whaletail should fit air-cooled cars from 1978 all the way up to 1989 but CHECK your sources for exact fitment specs and I believe this excludes some cabrio models.

A Classic Porsche is a wonderful thing to own and if your car is missing it's original rear spoiler or if you are looking to give your air-cooled classic Porsche and even more noticeable look then this is the piece that you are looking for. These decklids get harder and harder to find in this original condition. You will need to purchase a brand new gasket as that is what is recommended.

Mazda Furai concept burns in Top Gear's hands

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

It's the 20th anniversary of Top Gear -- the magazine anyway -- and as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, the magazine has copped to the destruction of the Mazda Furai concept, which caught on fire while in its possession an unspecified length of time ago. "The 20th anniversary collectors" edition of BBC Top Gear magazine…reveals a host of until-now untold secrets," says a statement from the magazine's publisher, "including the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of Mazda's astonishing Furai concept (hint: it involves the East Anglia fire service)." Well, that sucks. Look at that picture above!

But resting on your laurels is no way to continue being on top so, despite – or perhaps because of – the GT4′s success, Aston Martin has wheeled out updates for 2011 to keep the GT4 on top of its game.

A 36-gallon fuel tank leads the changes on the 2012 Ford F-150 pickup, which makes for a range of 756 bladder-busting miles without filling up. The FX trim gets a new appearance package, and the availability of a locking rear axle is expanded. The engine lineup is unchanged from that of the 2011 model, with six-speed automatic transmissions as standard equipment.
