This listing is for a new clutch cable pulley constructed from Delrin.

Compare to OEM Part # 914.423.255.02.

As Delrin was not available when these cars were made, these parts were constructed from a less stable polymer. Not bad for it's time, but with the advances in materials, the choice today should be Delrin. This material is resistant to fuels and solvents and is more dimensionally stable.

As these parts are often at least a decade old they tend to wear and get sloppy in tolerances. The plastic gets more brittle over time and as it flexes it gets crack  in the edges of the pulley that eventually break. Delrin will not flex as much as the OEM, and will transmit the load with less deflection.

This is a nice part at a great price.

I do have bushings availabe, just ask me to list one.

Would you buy a Ford Ecosport?

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

A couple weeks ago, we asked you if you were interested in a Holden Ute SS from down under, a beast of a truck (or is it car?) that combined the flexibility of a small pickup with the luxury and convenience of a sedan. Oh, and that Holden Ute SS had a 6.0-liter V8 in one of its milder forms; more insane LS3-powered versions are also available. Your answers were unequivocally yes, and who would blame you?

2012 Volkswagen Beetle guest stars on ‘Oprah'

Mon, 22 Nov 2010

Volkswagen used the “Oprah Winfrey Show” to tease the 2012 Beetle, which arrives in showrooms next fall. A silhouette of the diminutive new car was shown on Monday on the TV show, and it's expected to have sleeker styling with a stretched-out roofline. That cue was also seen on the 2005 Ragster concept.

Audi A1 Quattro models ‘on the way’

Wed, 12 Jan 2011

Audi has confirmed it is testing four-wheel drive Quattro versions of the A1 – indicating an imminent expansion of Audi’s supermini range. Although showcased as this one-off at a Quattro publicity event in Montreal, Canada, to celebrate 30 years of the all-corner drive system, Ingolstadt acknowledged at last autumn’s 2010 Paris motor show that Quattro versions of the A1 were in the pipeline. The production A1 Quattro will use the Haldex differential to split drive to both axles; it’s a similar technology to that found in A3 and TT Quattros, as opposed to the mechanical Torsen diff found in larger Quattro models.
