2015 Dodge Charger gets inside-out revamp for New York
Thu, 17 Apr 2014The 2015 Dodge Charger is getting shown off at the New York auto show this week. The muscle sedan gets a freshened exterior, a DOHC 3.6-liter 300-hp V6 capable of 31 mpg highway and a standard eight-speed automatic transmission with sport mode the company claims reduces shift times 37 percent. The 5.7-liter 370-hp Hemi V8 is optional.
McLaren 650S to make Geneva debut
Wed, 12 Feb 2014McLaren Automotive The McLaren 650S will be the star of the British brand’s display at the 2014 Geneva motor show, it has been confirmed. At this stage McLaren has revealed little other than the name, and a close-up shot of the car’s badge. It says, however, that the 650S “takes learnings from both the 12C as well as the sell-out McLaren P1 and will be positioned between the two on McLaren Automotive’s supercar grid”.
New Porsche 911 Speedster reportedly in the works
Tue, 12 Nov 2013When European-car importer Max Hoffman suggested to Porsche that the American audience might like a cheaper, open-top version of the company's 356, Stuttgart responded with the Speedster. And while every Porsche partisan is a special snowflake -- some love road-going racers like the 904, others can't imagine life without a roof-rack-equipped 912, others go gaga for anything with a legit, lift-off Targa top, and some folks just really, really, really love 924s -- the Speedster's the light, lovable kid brother for which any fan of the marque has a measure of affection. Porsche knows it, and as such, they've introduced limited Speedster models of every 911 series since the 3.2 Carrera -- except for the oft-maligned 996 (which is still loved by its proponents, IMS-bearing issues aside).
