Just as we’ve already reported, the 650S is a more focused 12C with front end styling that takes its lead from the McLaren P1, more power – up from 616bhp in the 12C to 641bhp (650PS) – and more focus on driver engagement. That new P1 front end new LED headlights mark the 650S out from the 12C, with a more integrated front splitter increasing downforce and door blades behind the front wheels directing air from the trailing edges of the splitter for better front end grip.
House narrowly passes scaled-back 'cash-for-clunkers' bill
Wed, 17 Jun 2009The U.S. House on Tuesday narrowly passed a scaled-back version of a bill that would give consumers cash vouchers of between $3,500 and $4,500 if they trade in their cars for newer, more fuel-efficient vehicles. The $1 billion cash-for-guzzlers proposal, modeled after successful programs in Germany and other European countries, is part of a $106 billion supplemental spending measure designed mostly to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
