One Lap of the Web: Cumberbatch on Hamilton and Blue Ovals that never were
Thu, 29 May 2014-- The Internet's greatest man-crush of the moment, next to boyish rogue Tom Hiddleston, is the aristocratically named and occasionally cross-dressing Benedict Cumberbatch. But the "Sherlock" star (not "Doctor Who," as the un-nerdy announcers mistakenly trumpet) has a dark secret: he's actually a Formula One fan who interviewed Lewis Hamilton at the podium at Malaysia. Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition revealed
Sat, 28 Feb 2009Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition Uwe Gemballa and his team are probably the world’s best Porsche Carrera GT Tuners. There have been a number of tuned and pimped versions from them in the last few years (you wonder when they’re going to run out of donor cars – there were only 1270 ever made), but this one looks particularly good. Based on a standard donor Porsche Carrera GT, the Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition gets a power increase of around 50bhp, taking it to 670bhp (not as mad as some of the Gemballa Carrera GTs have been) and 470lb/ft of torque.
Opel Ampera: the full, official technical story
Wed, 25 Mar 2009By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 25 March 2009 10:05 Opel/Vauxhall predict that the new Ampera production car will sell more in Britain than anywhere else in Europe. The extended range electric vehicle, unveiled at the recent 2009 Geneva motor show, will go on sale here in late 2011 and marketing bosses say the UK is more accepting of hybrids and alternative vehicles than other markets. It’s not clear at this stage how much the Ampera will cost in the UK, but we’re looking at a likely cost around £20,000.
