Its pleasingly idiosyncratic range of cars – ultra modern, finely crafted and mostly fun to drive – have been hamstrung in the showrooms by a range of V6 and V8 petrol engines which have been designed for customers in Los Angeles or Boston, not London or Berlin. The auction by Ferrari to raise funds for victims of the earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region has raised €1.8 million. The Ferrari auction to raise money for victims of the earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region in Italy only kicked off two weeks ago, but has already ended with a total of over €1.8 million raised. The vast majority of the funds raised came from the sale of the Ferrari 599XX which sold to an American buyer for €1.4 million – almost a bargain.

The Ariel Ace bike will be priced from around £20,000, and will be manufactured in small numbers alongside the Atom sports car at the Ariel headquarters in Somerset. The Ace will build upon Ariel’s relationship with Honda by featuring its 173bhp 1237cc V4 engine and drive system.
