Quaife ATB Helical LSD Limited Slip Differential Honda RSX K20A K20A2
Description

Quaife Helical LSD Differential - ENGINE POWER outputs increase ever further and need the ability to utilize this extra performance becomes more important. Wheel spin may look spectacular but such losses of traction waste time either from a standing start or exiting a bend
Whether driving on the road, circuit, rally stage or drag strip. Fortunately, QUAIFE’s patented Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) Helical LSD differential is an effective, well-proven and low-cost solution.

Direct replacement for the standard, factory ‘open’ differential, QUAIFE’s ATB Helical LSD unit can transform the performance of your car. Unlike a conventional plate-style limited slip unit, QUAIFE’s ATB Helical LSD unit relies on gears, rather than clutch plates for its operation.

That means it’s much smoother in operation, because unlike a conventional plate-style LSD, it never locks harshly with a set pre-load of wheel slip across the driven axle. Rather, it automatically biases the torque away from the spinning wheel across the axle, to a constantly varying degree and never locks.

To the driver (especially of a front-wheel drive car,) the results are significant performance improvements;- superior, controllable traction without the harsh steering wheel snatch or torque steer that have long been associated with performance differentials. These traction benefits can also be utilized in rear wheel drive vehicles, while QUAIFE ATB Helical LSD units offer significant traction advantages fitted to the front of four wheel drive cars.

Reliability is total; the ATB Helical LSD units are designed using the latest CAD techniques and are CNC machined to ultra-tight tolerances from the very best CORUS steel billets. The completed units are then subject to rigorous in-house inspection on a tri-coordinate measuring machine before being dispatched to the customer.

Such quality means that unlike a conventional plate-style LSD the QUAIFE ATB Helical LSD unit requires no special maintenance or rebuilds, long lasting and it retains the standard method of lubrication, making for an easy, pain-free upgrade.

Proven in rallying, racing and on the road, the ATB Helical LSD differential offers safe, reliable, winning performance – everything you’d expect from a QUAIFE product.

Ecclestone wants to bring the noise

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

FORMULA ONE supremo Bernie Ecclestone has vowed to address growing concerns surrounding the sport's lack of an appealing noise. Following Sunday's season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Ron Walker, chairman of the organising company that stages the race, complained to close friend Ecclestone about the lack of sound. The piercing scream of the old V8 engine has gone, and in its place we now have a huskier tone, complete with whistles and whirrs from the 1.6-litre V6 turbo as F1 tries to become greener.

Concept Car of the Week: Nissan ARC-X (1987)

In the mid to late 1980s Japan's car industry was booming and with it its confidence. No longer satisfied with producing brilliantly engineered but worthy cars, Japanese manufacturers had ambitions of taking on the Europeans in the luxury market. Nissan made its intentions clear at the 1987 Tokyo motor show with the ARC-X concept.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (2015) revealed in patent pics

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

The BMW 4 Series Gran 4 Coupe is proof that BMW is continuing its efforts to fill every imaginable niche. It's a four-door version of the 4 Series coupe, which itself is based on the 3 Series saloon, and adds to a bewildering array of machines stemming from the F30 3 Series. Officially the 4 Series Gran Coupe, revealed in full in these images from the firm’s design patent, is given the ‘F36’ codename and is expected to be officially unveiled in early 2014. It joins the F30 (3 Series saloon), F31 (3 Series Touring), F32 (4 Series Coupe), F33 (4 Series Convertible), F34 (3 Series Gran Turismo) and F35 (3 Series long-wheelbase saloon) to complete the range of body styles.
