Volkswagen's New Compact Coupe (NCC) concept previews the next Jetta, but with two-doors rather than four. The car's front - minus the hybrid-style closed grille - pretty much represents the new face of the sixth-generation production Jetta due on sale this November, and its syling is informed by the latest Polo as well as some recent concepts from the German brand. Chevrolet Suburban turns 75

The Chevrolet Suburban, the longest-running nameplate in the auto industry, turned 75 this year, and Chevy held a little birthday party on Detroit's Belle Isle on Tuesday. The General Motors division brought some classics for us to ogle and drive, from a 1935 to the 2010 Diamond Edition. Through the early 1930s, automakers were offering car-based wagons.

Pierre Authier: I'm not moving to Opel/Vauxhall

As the ongoing General Motors designer saga continues, the latest Opel/Vauxhall Vice President of Design elect, Pierre Authier has taken his name off the shortlist for the Rüsselsheim. Car Design News had received information from a reliable source within PSA about Authier's supposed move, however we have since spoken to Pierre, who was keen to put the record straight: “I read the flattering article on my recruitment as VP of Design for Opel/Vuaxhall, but this information is false,” he told CDN. “I am really enjoying my position at Peugeot and with the 208 family team that has made such incredible work.” The search for the missing piece in the GM puzzle continues.
