Today for sale is a NEW QuickCar checkered flag ignition control panel. This panel features 1 ignition toggle switch with corresponding light, 1 accessory toggle switch with corresponding light, and 1 momentary starter button. This panel is pre-wired for use with QuickCar wiring harnesses, but to custom fit it to your application you can simply snip the connector off and wire it in right there. Either way, you won't have to wire each switch and light individually. This panel measures 4 5/8" wide and 4 3/8" tall. This item has only been out for picture and display purposes, it is 100% new and will ship in the original manufacturer's packaging. As with any racing part, sadly, there is no warranty. GM closes UK Advanced Design Studio

CDN has learnt that General Motors is closing its UK Advanced Design Studio as part of its ongoing restructuring program. Clay Dean, GM's executive director of advanced global design and Cadillac's brand director, arrived at the studio on 4 August to announce the closure to staff. The UK studio, which opened in 1999, was predominantly involved in the creation of Cadillac concept cars and was originally planned to be a short-term confidential operation as the smallest of GM's design studios.

Jaguar XE Roadster WILL get 3.0 litre diesel

This Jaguar XE is running a 3.0 litre diesel lump Earlier today we ran an update on the ongoing speculation on Jaguar’s small sports car, confirming that Jaguar will debut the Jaguar XE at Frankfurt in September. And now we can add to that by reporting that it WILL be getting the option of a 3.0 litre diesel lump when it goes on sale in 2012. We’ve speculated for some time that Jaguar will add the very good 3.0 litre TDV6 from the XJ and XF to the range of engines on the XK.
