Racelogic Performance Box - Performance Meter - VBOX

What does a Performance Box do?

PerformanceBox is a GPS based Performance meter for measuring your vehicle's speed, g-force and handling and helps you improve track driving skills.

Packed with features, it allows you to measure your 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, Vmax, cornering G, braking G, Lap Times and much more.

When connected to the Micro Input Module, PerformanceBox can also log RPM and up to four analogue signals, such as throttle angle and brake pressure.

How can we provide so many amazing functions for such a low price?

The answer is because PerformanceBox is based on the VBOX by Racelogic. The VBOX is used by almost every car manufacturer and tyre company in the world for testing.

Companies such as Ford, GM, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Nissan, Goodyear and Michelin, all use the VBOX in test and development.

- How fast does your car accelerate?- How good are your lap-times?- What g-force can you pull?- How much power does your car produce?

PeformanceBox gives you the answers to these questions and more, in fact it is the only device to combine four products in one:

  1. Performance Meter
  2. Lap Timer
  3. Data Logger
  4. Power Calculator

PerformanceBox History
PerformanceBox is a version of DriftBox, which was launched in early 2006 to wide acclaim. Subsequent to this success it was decided that a version of DriftBox which does not include the yaw rate sensor, and which therefore cannot measure drift angle, would be a worthy addition to the Racelogic product range.

As a result we are now able to offer a comprehensive package of performance meter and data logger. In addition there is a vehicle power calculation mode, and accurate speed display which will also display Points of Interest.

How Does PerformanceBox Work?Housed inside the PerformanceBox is a high performance 10Hz GPS engine, which measures Speed, Postion, Acceleration and Heading ten times a second.

PeformanceBox is equipped with an MMC/SD Flash memory card socket. This allows 10Hz logging of Time, Distance, Speed, Position, G-force, Lap Times, and Split Times.

Data logged to the MMC flash card can be analysed in detail using the PC software provided. For convenience, PerformanceBox can be connected to the USB port of a PC compatible computer to download information stored on the memory card.

Get a classic car restoration scholarship

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

Hagerty recently announced it has teamed-up with LeMay–America’s Car Museum to help develop a new program focusing on education on vehicle restoration. This hands-on learning program has been dubbed the “Hagerty Education Program at America’s Car Museum,” and will provide scholarships as well as educational grants to students who are eager and committed to the collector-vehicle industry. Hagerty wants to carry on the success of the former Collectors Foundation, originally introduced in 2005, to continue to educate young people between the ages of 14-25 on the inner workings of the automotive preservation and restoration process.

Oh, puh-leeze: Lighten up, people

Wed, 01 Apr 2009

Rarely do I come to the defense of a competitive member of the fourth estate, but the people at Car and Driver are getting the hooey knocked out of them by everyone from "professional media representatives" to the NASCAR faithful. What was CD's egregious sin? Its editors concocted an April Fool's joke with them good ol' boys Chrysler and General Motors as its punchline.

2013 Ford Mondeo: Paris 2012

Sat, 29 Sep 2012

Ford has given the new Mondeo itsĀ firstĀ public outing at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and it looks a good effort. But the new 2013 Ford Mondeo no longer has the advantage of being a default buy for families, so Ford are working hard to make the Mondeo stand out from the mainstream offerings in the C/D segment by making it appear to more ‘Premium’ than just a mere Ford. That means a new nose – a nose that looks like it belongs on an Aston Martin – and a clever range of technology and engines that actually offer more – and for less – than most of the premium car makers can manage.
