Porsche 918 Spyder details emerge in leaked document
Mon, 22 Oct 2012Rennteam.com forum member Rossi has posted what looks to be leaked details of the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid. Other surprises include the quick charger that reduces charge times about 30 minutes and the inclusion of Sail Mode, which decouples the transmission from the engine to conserve fuel.
Viva La Viva
Wed, 10 Sep 2014VAUXHALL is to resurrect the Viva name as it plans to launch an entry-level car to sit alongside its Mini rival the Adam and soon to be launched new Corsa supermini. For now the car maker isn’t giving much away, although it has revealed that the new car will be a five-door model. And while the new Viva will be a significant step up in terms of refinement and sophistication over its 1963 namesake, it’s clear that Vauxhall is keen to tap into the current trend for producing low cost cars that’s proved so successful for the likes of Dacia.
Opel/Vauxhall teases Cascada mid-size convertible
Wed, 05 Sep 2012Opel/Vauxhall has given us a sneak peek of its new mid-size convertible, the Cascanda, which effectively replaces the Astra Twin Top. The Cascanda features a full-size fabric roof that can be opened or closed with one button up to speeds of 30mph and is the latest model to shun a folding hardtop in favor of the lighter and more practical soft option. The company claims this is its first D-segment cabrio for more than 70 years but, unlike them, we haven't forgotten the Cavialier Convertible of the 1980s (see pic).
