Google driverless cars ‘safer than humans’
Tue, 29 Oct 2013Google claims that its driverless cars are now safer than human motorists, after analysing testing data gathered over thousands of experimental miles of assessment. The Internet search giant has been developing its controversial autonomous cars for several years, adapting a fleet of 10 vehicles – including six Toyota Prius hybrids, three Lexus RX450h off-roaders and an Audi TT – to drive by themselves. Retaining most of the details first seen in the original 2009 concept, the strict two-seater features a distinctive 'helmet roof'. The new Coupe is an 'expression of the distinctive Mini design', according to the company, but it's also a departure from the brand's current offerings.

Even though we’re living in a car world that’s more global in its offerings than ever before, there are still significant differences between offerings in different markets. The Fiat 500 in the US offers an Abarth in its range, but just so the colonials don’t get confused it’s badged as the Fiat 500 Abarth rather than Abarth 500.
