RARE TRIUMPH TR250 TR6 BUCKET SEATS - FOLD DOWN HEADRESTS

No Reserve TR 4 4A 250 TR6

I am cleaning out the attic so what we have up for auction is a pair of really rare (black vinyl) bucket seats for the early Triumph TR6s.  These are the seats with the fold-down headrests.  They were originally fitted only to the 1969 TR6, but they will also fit TR4s, TR250s and/or TR6s.  These seats allow the use of a flat tonneau cover (when the headrests are folded down).  Perfect for TR4 or TR250 if you want to fit a highback seat without having to cut or modify your tonneau.

These seats are really rare and almost impossible to find.  I have never seen another pair offered on ebay, at any price.  They are certainly not perfect, but are still in pretty good shape considering their age.  They have been in dry storage for many, many years, so the seat frames are excellent.   The vinyl seat covers are OK, but some of the stitching has separated on one side and the foams obviously need to be replaced.  If it were me, I would just do a complete re-upholstery job (Moss Motors carries complete upholstery kits for these seats).  One of the seats is also missing the rear panel, but it's easy to cut a new one out of fiberboard.  I may even have it somewhere, and I will include it if it turns up.

If you need a pair of seats like this don’t wait, you might never get a shot at another pair.  This is a super deal so don’t miss out.  As always, offered at absolutely NO RESERVE and at a very reasonable opening bid (STARTING AT JUST ONE BUCK), so you get to set the final price!!!!  Have fun and if you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to email.

THIS IS A FIVE DAY AUCTION, (CLOSING MONDAY NIGHT) so bid soon if you want it!!!

I expect shipping for both seats (via UPS or FedEx ground) will run around $75 to $175, depending on your location.  If you don’t mind a drive to the nearest bus terminal, the seats can be shipped via Greyhound for around $65 to $85, almost anywhere within the Continental USA.   I’ll be happy to work with you on shipping, using any method you like.  Just email me after the auction, let me know the shipping method you prefer, and we can sort out the best shipping option.

That said, I have entered a flat shipping rate of $75 for this auction.  If it ends up being more (or less) I will forward an updated invoice at the close of the auction.  Payment in full is due within 7 days following close of auction.   Payment can be made using PayPal, or payment in full upon pickup.   Thanks very much for looking and good luck with the auction.

Toyota says Prius plug-in gets 65 mpg

Mon, 02 Feb 2009

Toyota Priuses with plug-in hybrid technology are averaging 65 mpg in combined gasoline and electric-mode testing. "That is real-world driving," said Bill Reinert, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A.'s national alternative-fuel vehicle manager. "I ask my guys to drive them as you drive your normal Prius." By comparison, the redesigned 2010 Prius, a parallel hybrid with nickel-metal hydride batteries, will have an estimated 50 mpg rating.
