Telematics box aids attempted murderer conviction

A ‘BLACK BOX’ telematics device fitted to a hire car has played a significant role in the conviction of an attempted murderer. The device had been previously installed into a car hired by Daniel Paita, 32; a car he was driving on the day he carried out an attack on a man in Glasgow. Paita had claimed he was nowhere near the area, but anti-motoring fraud experts at Asset Protection Unit Ltd (APU) were able to ascertain the car’s true whereabouts via a tracking device within the telematics unit.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport – Production starts

Production has now started on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport But that looks set to pick up with the latest Veyron, the Grand Sport, which has commenced production at the Bugatti factory in Molsheim this week. And to celebrate that fact, Bugatti has had a bit of a get together of Veyron owners to play with pre-production cars in Cannes this weekend, which also gives them the excuse to release some new images of the Grand Sport. Karmann-Ghia launches contest for Brazilian design students

Karmann-Ghia has launched a competition for Brazilian students to design a modern interpretation of its classic Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia Coupé. Students will be competing for a top prize of R$100,000 (US$49,750) with the possibility that the winning design will be developed into a prototype. The student awarded second place will earn themselves R$60,000 (US$29,800) while the third placed entry is worth R$14,884 (US$7,350).
