Ferrari 612 Scaglietti 60th Anniversary (2007): first official pictures

By Jack Carfrae First Official Pictures 30 January 2007 11:35 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti 60th Anniversary: the lowdown This week marks the beginning of Ferrari’s extravagant 60th anniversary celebrations – and they’re led by that rarest of things: a Ferrari special edition. Between kicking off a cross-continental marathon and announcing a Ferrari theme park, Maranello has unveiled plans to produce a limited run of 60 unique versions of the 612 Scaglietti. Each car will commemorate the 60 most significant events in the history of the company, ranging from F1 World Championship wins to the launch of milestone models such as the F40 and Enzo.

Honda fires new F1 engine for first time

EVEN BEFORE the 2013 Formula 1 season has ended preparations and development are already well under way for next year, especially so because of a radical change to the rules. From 2014 all cars will be powered by small 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engines, signalling the end of the current 2.4-litre non-turbocharged V8 engines, bringing them closer in basic layout - if not output - to normal road car engines. For Honda 2015 is a return to the sport in partnership with McLaren, and the Japanese firm's engines will power the 2015 McLaren challenger.

Kia four-door sports sedan concept

Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter."
