Lexus ES350/ES300h
Fri, 08 Jun 2012Lexus has unveiled its ES350 and ES300h luxury sedans as part of the 2013 generation of the brand's ES lineup since its introduction over twenty years ago. The new ES remains front-wheel drive but has a lower, longer profile than its predecessor and also incorporates the brand’s signature spindle grille, with the "L" design motif reflected in the LED daytime running lights and rear lamps. The 2013 ES is 25mm longer at 4895mm, with a wheelbase of 2819mm, up 46mm.
Honda showcases self-driving car
Wed, 10 Sep 2014HONDA has shared its vision of the hands-free commute, a car that can safely drive itself on the road while the driver's hands are off the wheel. While the car is just a prototype, Honda says the technology could start appearing on Honda cars in 2020 and beyond. The prototype - an Acura RLX sedan - has cameras that monitor lane marking and multiple radar sensors on the front and sides.

Thu, 17 May 2012Vauxhall Ellesmere Port - Saved General Motors is to keep Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port open, move to three shift working and create 700 new jobs. The overcapacity of mainstream car manufacture in Europe as the market becomes ever more polarised between premium and budget cars – squeezing the middle – means car maker having to rationalise their output. Many thought that could mean the end of Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port as GM sought to stem its European losses (around £2 billion in the last three years), especially as it is easier to close plants and lay off workers in the UK than in mainland Europe.
