10.4" Raymarine Pathfinder RL80CRC+ Radar/Chart Display

This RL80CRC Plus was removed from my boat this spring for a complete Raymarine electronics replacement.  It worked perfectly all the way through last fall when the boat was winterized.  The pictures are of the actual unit and those with screens showing are from when the display was powered up earlier today.  The display is fully functional.  This is a freshwater only (Great Lakes) unit with the Clear Bright daylight viewable screen, HSB2 networking, 2 CMap NT+ chart slots.

The unit was installed on my salmon/walleye boat with it flush mounted in the center console.  The sun cover was always used when the display was not on.  It is in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition.  I bought it new in 2005 when I last upgraded my boat's electronics.   It was networked using HSB2 and SeaTalk to my boat's pair of L770 displays (front and rear), DSM250 blackbox fishfinder, ST6001 autopilot, and an NMEA GPS chart plotter.  Any function could be displayed on any of the three screens.  Some of the other components are for sale in other eBay listings.

Features:
  • 10.4" full color diagonal display -- no issues
  • 2 CMap NT+ chart card slots -- both work great (had a Lake Michigan/Huron and a Lake Erie card installed -- chart screen pictures are with the cards installed to show details)
  • HSB2 networking
  • SeaTalk networking
  • NMEA data in and out
  • Can be used with Raymarine Pathfinder dome and open array radar scanners
  • Split screen display of radar, charts, fishfinder
  • User selectable boxes to show lots of other data -- headings, temperature, depth, time...
  • Can add fish finder functionality by adding an L755+, L760+, DSM250, DSM30, or DSM300 with appropriate HSB2 cabling
Includes:
  • The RL80CRC+ display
  • Gimbal mount with knobs
  • Power NMEA in cable
  • NMEA out cable
Price:  $700 OBO

Shipping:  It will be buyer's choice of carrier and speed of shipping including insurance at the purchase price.  Will ship to USA, Canada or worldwide with buyer paying ACTUAL shipping & insurance costs.

Returns:  Returns only allowed if the wrong unit is shipped.  Due to problems in the past with scammers trying to return broken units and electronics that didn't work due to improper installation, unit is sole as is.  Check my feedbask, I don't sell bad stuff.  If the unit is damaged in shipping, that is what the shipping insurance is for.  If it doesn't work, contact me but also that is what the eBay buyer protection guarantee is for.  I wish it didn't have to be this way, but too many dishonest people out there.

Note: the pictures shown were taken with the unit connected to a 12v power source on my work bench and are actual pictures of it running earlier today.

If you have questions, please ASK before you buy or make an offer.  I know this unit very well and can help if you are uncertain if it will work for you.

Volvo V40 Review: D3 SE Nav (2012)

Sun, 11 Nov 2012

This week we have Volvo’s very promising new V40 in for review and test in the guise of the V40 D3 SE Nav manual. For perhaps the first time, Volvo are offering a serious alternative to cars like the BMW 1 Series (and the new Mercedes A Class) with the V40. Certainly on all the things that grab the headlines – looks, performance and equipment – the V40 seems to be a very credible effort from Volvo.

Hearing the call of the auto-show siren

Fri, 23 Jul 2010

Margery Krevsky walks over to a display case containing several hood-ornament reproductions. “This is probably the most famous hood ornament in the world,” she says, pointing to Rolls-Royce's “The Spirit of Ecstasy.” The story behind it “could be made into a movie,” as she put it. And it would be worth watching for car enthusiasts.
