Lokinen Geneva motor show 2009 blog

By Lokinen Motor Shows 10 March 2009 12:00 Getting To Base Camp Thannon It had all gone too well. Having failed to secure accommodation near the centre of Geneva, I’d easily managed to get an apartment in the same block as my two forum blogger colleagues, Robbie (1977) and Mark (car4mh). I’d also, purely by chance, managed to get a flight that landed ten minutes before Robby’s flight into Geneva which meant that we could jointly figure out the best way to get the 35k/m from the Airport to Thannon Le Bain, over the border in France and split the cost if necessary.

New Range Rover Sport races a Spitfire on the Goodwood Airfield (video)

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

The new Range Rover Sport takes on the iconic Spitfire (pictured) in a race at Goodwood They may have stolen the idea from Top Gear, but Land Rover has taken up a challenge from FortyOneSix.com to turn up at the Goodwood Airfield with a new Range Rover Sport and take on a WWII Spitfire on the Goodwood Airfield. As the Goodwood Airfield is a grass strip, it’s a proper test of the new Range Rover Sport’s ability to get away on slippery surfaces and the Spitfire provides a worthy challenger with its 1750bhp V12 Merlin engine offering a 400mph performance in the air and over 80mph at take-off. The Vickers Submarine Spitfire was piloted by Matt Jones from the Boultbee Flight Academy and the RRS by Mike Cross, so there was no doubting the abilities of both to get the best out of their charges.

Tata Prima (w/ Gallery)

Thu, 19 Mar 2009

Pininfarina didn't show a new car at this year's Geneva Motor Show, but there was a surprise new model on the Tata stand adorned with the famed Carrozzeria's signature. Called the Tata Prima (meaning 'first' in Italian), the luxury sedan concept is the first official project of the Tata-Pininfarina cooperation. Based on the platform of the Tata Indigo - the first Indian sedan - the Prima is an indication of how future Tata sedans could look.
