This is a Raymarine S3 Autopilot system that includes:
The external smart heading sensor provides fast gyro heading for use by the course computer and by networked Raymarine multifunction displays for MARPA (automated target tracking). This is the same capability that is built into the S3G version of this autopilot. This is a type 400 autopilot which is capable of driving Type 1, 2, and 3 drives & pumps for large boats. This system was installed on our boat in fall 2005 and removed in fall 2015 due to upgrading to a newer Raymarine autopilot system. The system is fully functional. In additional to these components you will need a drive unit for your boat and a compatible Raymarine control head such as the Raymarine ST6001 or ST6002 autopilot control head. The reveal of the new Aston Martin Vanquish has only just happened, but in 2012 that’s not good enough for a supercar – you need to have a configurator to play with. So if you’ve got a spare half an hour at work today (or even if you haven’t) you can go to Aston Martin’s website and play with the configurator for the new Vanquish to your heart’s content.
