Raytheon Raymarine RL80C Plus HSB1 Radar & Chartplotter GPS Display

The Raymarine RL80C provides a full VGA, 10.4″, daylight viewable, 640 x 480 color LCD display. It uses the flexibility of direct cable HSB (High Speed Bus) and later in the RL80C+ /RL80CRC+ versions use HSB2 technology to offer full multi-station capability. Connect any Pathfinder or newer analog radar dome or open array and you have full multi-station radar performance for up to 10 displays.

The RL80C Raychart is also compatible with Raymarine’s MARPA / radar collision avoidance system, allowing you to track up to 10 other vessels and display the target’s speed, range, bearing, course and closest point of approach so that you know exactly when and where a target will intercept your course.

Removed as part of system upgrade.

Powered up unit on bench and confirmed operation, display was OK, but had shadowing on extreme edges, but brightness adjustments worked good.

comes with-
  • RL80 Color Display
  • Power cord
  • Suncover
  • Chart chip
  • Quick Ref Cards

The committee consisted of one driver in an R18 e-tron quattro LMP1 car. Keen eyes will notice the race car passing a red tractor, also a Porsche design.

Would you buy a Ford Ecosport?

A couple weeks ago, we asked you if you were interested in a Holden Ute SS from down under, a beast of a truck (or is it car?) that combined the flexibility of a small pickup with the luxury and convenience of a sedan. Oh, and that Holden Ute SS had a 6.0-liter V8 in one of its milder forms; more insane LS3-powered versions are also available. Your answers were unequivocally yes, and who would blame you?

Future products: Suzuki Swift on hold as VW reviews plans

Fri, 10 Sep 2010

American Suzuki's product plans are murky--partly as a result of Volkswagen's acquisition of 20 percent of Suzuki Motor Corp. this year and partly because of the growing strength of the yen against the dollar. The Swift, a small car popular in Europe and Japan, was scheduled to go on sale in the United States this year.
