Up for sale, one rebuilt Original Equipment Manufacture Harley-Davidson Linkert M-74 carburetor, stock for late 1950 to early 1951 F & FL Panheads, but can be used on any Harley with a four bolt manifold. This carb has been completely dis-assembled, media-blasted, cleaned, with all fuel circuits and air passages blown out. It was then re-assembled with new gaskets, new throttle shaft bushings, an NOS throttle shaft, a new brass float, a new main nozzle spring, and a new float bowl nut assembly. Although new, all brass floats are tested for leakage before installation. All the threaded holes and mounting surfaces are good (the two upper mounting holes on the manifold side have been heli-coiled). The float bowl has some corrosion inside, but it doesn't affect performance. Overall condition is shown in the photos (use the 'zoom' feature for close-up views). It's ready to bolt up, adjust and run on your Panhead. Over 135 Linkert carburetors rebuilt with no problems or returns. Please ask any questions before bidding.

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

The credits list Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez as the stars of "Getaway," the action/thriller/chase scene of a movie that opens nationwide on Friday, but really the star is the Shelby GT500 Super Snake that Hawke drives. “Honestly I feel like it's a character in the movie,” director Courtney Solomon told us on the black carpet at the movie's premiere. “We couldn't have made the movie without the car.

Ford's automotive assembly line celebrates 100th anniversary

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

A mere century ago, on Oct. 7, 1913, Henry Ford rigged up a rope tow to get Model T chassis across the floor of his Highland Park assembly plant -- essentially winching cars across the factory floor and adding a set schedule of parts at certain intervals. The implementation may have been a bit primitive, but Ford was on the cusp something big: applying the concepts of the moving assembly line to the complicated, costly process of automobile production.
