Pagani reveals there will be a Huayra Roadster by 2014 We had so many stories on the Pagani Huayra through January and February we began to wonder if there were any angles left to cover. From the first teases on the Huayra from Pagani to our world-exclusive reveal of the first official photo of the Huayra, we covered every base there was to cover before the launch. But Huayra stories have disappeared from the headlines as we wait for Pagani to actually make a car or two for customers and some real-world shots.

Within almost every automotive design department throughout the world, their comes a time when a junior designer is dispatched to find a picture of some new model's tail lamp, the side view of a particular class leading competitor or examples of several new cars' colour and trim packages. Whilst looking at the competition is not necessarily a healthy way of finding ideas, it is often essential to demonstrate what is feasible, check in-house proposals are not too derivative, or show how advanced a design theme is relative to the same type of cars on the market. But even if the particular aspect of a car can be found, press packs and magazines typically show cars in the flattering light of an exotic location or being drifted around a corner on opposite lock; rarely are these images particularly useful.

The Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful version of the XFR – will debut tomorrow at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but we get a second tease first. Jaguar’s punt at making the now ageing XFR credible against the new BMW M5 – the Jaguar XFR-S – is getting its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow, but ahead of that full reveal Jaguar is teasing interest with its second teaser photo of the most powerful saloon they’ve ever built. Last week we got a front view of the XFR-S with its more aggressive nose (and Jaguar’s favourite ‘Speedy’ blue paint job) and this week we get to see the thumping great carbon fibre rear wing Jaguar has bolted on the back of the XFR-S.
