This auction is for a Donnelly auto-dimming rear view mirror with
map lights and 7-pin plug removed from a 2000 Buick Regal GS, and is the
same factory option mirror also available in the '97 & up Buick Century,
Rendezvous, Chevy Impala, Monte Carlo, Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Status,
Lincoln LS, and a slew of other makes and models, both foreign and
domestic. Basically, if you have an identical looking mirror with the
same mounting base, map lights and 7 pin connector, this will be a
direct swap. These mirrors are hard to come by, as Donnelly mirrors are
prone to breaking by leaking out the self-dimming fluid/gel inside them,
causing stains and paint to be removed from whatever it drips on to.
Don't wait for your mirror to reach this state before replacing it!
Even if your vehicle didn't come with a fancy mirror, don't worry. These
can easily be added to
anything that runs off of 12-volts with very little wiring know-how. All
it takes for this particular mirror is running one wire to a +12v source that
comes on with accessories/ignition, one wire to a constant +12v source
to operate the map lights individually/on demand, one wire tapped into a
courtesy light source that comes on when the doors open, and one wire
for ground. There is one more wire that is tapped into a
source that feeds the back up lights in order to disable the self-dimming feature when
the car is put in reverse, but most people don't bother wiring this in,
as it is not an important feature, and does not effect the functionality
of the mirror in any way. If you require a diagram to identify the wires
on the mirror plug, please let me know at the end of the auction, and I
will include a diagram at no additional charge!
Determining part fitment and compatibility is the sole responsibility of the
buyer/bidder! There are no refunds or exchanges for "oops, I got the
wrong part/this part doesn't work or fit on my car", so please look over the parts
carefully, and compare any part numbers in the pictures below with yours, or
contact a dealer to verify this part will work on your car. Remember
that if your car did not come with this type of mirror,
**this will be
a custom installation job**, so if you do not feel comfortable installing
it yourself, or do not want to pay a professional to do so, please do not
purchase the item. Also, look over the
pictures below carefully to make sure this mirror's mounting bracket
will fit your windshield's mounting button, or
contact a dealer/professional to verify this. Most windshield buttons are
universally sized, but there ARE variations on certain makes, models
and/or years (usually imports). If the one in your car is different, and
you still want to convert it to allow this mirror to fit in your car, please
let me know and I can provide the correct windshield button at no
additional charge. Any glass/body shop should be able to remove your
current button and install the one I provide you with for very little money,
if not free as a courtesy.
Condition
This part is in overall excellent condition, which is a rarity for a
Donnelly mirror due to them being prone to breaking and leaking out the
fluid/gel inside. There are no cracks,
breaks, leaks or major blemishes to the case, base or glass of this one. This
mirror has been TESTED, and works perfectly. The auto-dimming
reacts very well/quickly, both map lights work
and everything responds to their respective on/off buttons. I would rate this item a
