When the Volkswagen group opened Autostadt in June 2000, rumors of a mysterious prototype drew the crowds in the Audi Pavilion. The German brand unveiled an impressive concept that crystallized its latest design philosophy, while also nodding to its glorious racing history. Designed under Peter Schreyer's supervision, the rounded volumes of the Rosemeyer are animated with precise geometric details expressing quality, rationalism and honesty – the foundations of Audi Design.

Infiniti Q30 Concept revealed ahead of its Frankfurt debut

The Infiniti Q30 Concept (pictured) will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month It’s more than two years since the Infiniti Etherea Concept concept arrived at the Geneva Motor Show to point the way towards Infiniti’s compact future, and now that future is almost here with the reveal of the Infiniti Q30 Concept following on from a teaser sketch of the Q30 earlier this month . Not that Infiniti has exactly thrown caution to the wind and sent us a whole raft of photos – just the single photo of the Q30 above – but it does give us a better idea of what Infiniti are aiming to do in the compact premium market. Based on the underpinnings of the new Mercedes A-Class – and probably using a mix of Mercedes and Renault engines – Infiniti want us to know that the Q30 isn’t just another addition to the ever increasing choice of premium crossovers, but a real of fusion of bodystyles.

Nissan LEAF EV sales top 50,000

Nissan has revealed that sales of the electric LEAF have now topped 50,000 units since the LEAF went on sale in 2010. We’re not fans of the electric car as a replacement for the ICE car, but some electric cars can give a fair impression (at a a price) of a traditional family car, and the Nissan LEAF probably does it better than any other electric car. The LEAF went on sale in 2010 and, although sales have not been exactly huge, Nissan has revealed that the LEAF has now passed more than 50,000 cars sold in the 17 countries it is available, with the U.S.
