***UP FOR AUCTION*** You are bidding on a long ago rebuilt, Rebuilt Old Stock, Rochester brand, 2 barrel carburetor # 7040148. That is the number on the rebuilder's box. I crossed it to Tomco rebuilt # 2-319. According to my old catalogs, this carburetor applies to 1969-1971 AMC, American Motors Corp., JEEP and BUICK vehicles equipped with 350 c.i.d., 8 cylinder engines. THIS IS A RARE FIND AND PERHAPS A GREAT RESTORATION PIECE FOR THAT EARLY 70's "JEEP GLADIATOR" with the Buick Dauntless 350. There are still some of these classic engines in service and this is a R.O.S. carb at a bargain price. So revive that classic 350 c.i. Cherokee with a "ROS" carburetor. It has never had gasoline in it since the rebuild and has been sitting in packaged storage for over 30 years. AND fortunately, because of being stored in a CLIMATE-CONTROLLED building, this piece is in a GOOD condition...it does exhibit dust, rust and grime due to the box lid being open for many years. Please study photos for general condition of this item. You will receive what is shown in photos. This part is old stock from an auto parts warehouse. You or a carburetor repair specialist MAY need to clean and refurbish it a bit...AGAIN, it was re-manufactured over 30 years ago and has been sitting in storage ever since..."common sense"...it may need to be re-conditioned. Japan freeway clogged by supercar pileup

Nearly $2 million worth of vehicles were wrecked in a 14-car crash in Japan on Sunday. The pileup involved eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini, three Mercedes-Benzes and two Toyotas. The fancy car convoy was headed from Kyushu to Hiroshima when the driver of a red Ferrari skidded while switching from the right lane to the left on the rain-soaked expressway.

2011 Honda CR-Z starts at less than $20,000

The first mainstream hybrid with a six-speed manual, the 2011 Honda CR-Z, will sticker at a shade less than $20,000 when it arrives on the market on Aug. 24. Honda announced pricing for the sporty compact two-seater on Tuesday, and a base car with the manual starts at $19,950, including a $750 destination charge.

Carl-Peter Forster, CEO of Tata Motors, has told CAR of his hopes for Tata’s expansion in Europe – with plans to launch the Nano here with a diesel and possibly an electric version. You can read the full interview with Forster in the new July 2010 issue of CAR Magazine out this week. Tata is already the world’s fourth largest commercial vehicle producer and it is a strong force in the Indian car market.
