Edelbrock Corporation has six locations: four in Torrance and two in San Jacinto, California, totaling over 600,000 square feet. Headquarters include: R&D; manufacturing; tech support and more. Less than a mile away the Exhaust and Suspension Division design and manufacture high quality components using custom built equipment and state-of-the-art testing facilities. Our Aluminum Foundry and Motorcycle Division, where we manufacture carburetors for motorcycles, is located in San Jacinto. Our sand-cast foundry has been called "the most state-of-the-art foundry west of the Mississippi." In 2007 we will be adding a new Permanent Mold and Heat Treat facility next to our existing sand cast foundry, an over 8 million dollar commitment to "Made in USA" products and performance. In October 1999, we moved our warehouse into a new Distribution Center. All shipping and receiving operations were relocated to provide room for the expansion of our cylinder head, water pump and manifold manufacturing area at the main facility. Vic's Garage is located in the Distribution Center and houses the Company's collection of street rods and classic cars, as well as our extensive collection of historic photos and archives. They were moved to the shock facility in the spring and we are pleased to welcome the Russell employees to "The Fun Team." GM board will again delay decision on Opel's future, report says
Tue, 08 Sep 2009General Motors Co.'s board will again postpone a decision on Opel's future at a two-day meeting starting today despite pressure from Germany to accept an offer for the European unit from Magna International Inc, a newspaper reported today. GM's board will delay a decision until October at the earliest, the German business daily Handelsblatt said, citing company sources. The paper said the board favors keeping Opel or, as a second choice, selling a majority stake to Belgian investment group RHJ International, which is offering 300 million euros ($433 million) in cash for a 50.1 percent stake in Opel.
Higher gas prices? Blame ethanol
Fri, 04 Apr 2014MarketWatch reported today that the price of ethanol has seen a 30-percent price increase so far this year, taking the price of gasoline up with it, since a good majority of "gasoline" sold today is around 10 percent ethanol. The average price of a gallon of gas today is $2.30, according to FactSet data, but this has varied since the beginning of 2014. Despite the recent surge, ethanol prices have also proved to be rather volatile with reports of it dropping 8 percent this past Thursday after falling 10 percent just the day before.
50,000 copies of the 2012 Honda Civic recalled over driveshaft issue
Tue, 12 Jun 2012About 50,000 copies of the 2012 Honda Civic are being recalled because of a potential issue with the left driveshaft. The automaker claims that the driveshaft “may not have been properly assembled, potentially allowing it to separate from the outer CV joint while in operation.” While such a separation could result in total loss of power to the wheels and the inability to securely park the vehicle without the use of the parking brake, Honda claims that no incidents related to the issue have been reported. Earlier this year, Honda recalled about 45,800 Honda Odyssey minivans for faulty tailgate struts, 8,700 Honda Pilot and Acura MDX SUVs to fix a problem in the fuel tank, and 1,300 copies of the Honda CR-V to correct a control-arm problem.
