Nissan at the LA Auto Show: Sentra Nismo Concept, Juke RS

Nissan is all about Nismo, that sweet, sweet, NIssan MOtorsports NISMO. Case in point: the GTR Nismo that was at Tokyo. But on a smaller scale, the Nissan Juke Nismo gets some more letters, and it's the return of the fun-to-drive Sentra.

Umea Institute of Design degree show 2010

Earlier this month, Car Design News attended Umea University's annual degree show. Covering student work from the MA Interaction Design, Advanced Product Design and Transport Design programs and the BA Industrial Design program, it was the first exhibition overseen by Umea's new Rector, Anna Valtonen, formerly head of Design Research & Foresight at Nokia. In a departure from the show's traditional format, this year saw keynotes and workshops spread over two days.

Concept Car of the Week: Oldsmobile Golden Rocket (1956)

From 1949 to 1961, General Motors ran its own motor show. Called Motorama, the annual event was a showcase for concept cars which revealed prospective design and technology directions for all of GM's brands and for cars in general. Each year, one-off creations were designed and built for GM's multiple divisions, from Chevrolet all the way up to Cadillac.
