Your 2013 SRT Viper questions answered before the New York auto show

The 2013 SRT Viper will make its public debut on Wednesday at the New York auto show, but Autoweek readers who have Twitter accounts don't have to wait that long. We've arranged for an exclusive question-and-answer session with SRT director of operations Beth Paretta to take place the night before the big reveal. Starting at 5:45 p.m.

McLaren P1

McLaren has revealed the first interior images of the production-ready P1 ahead of its debut in Geneva next month. The interior was hidden with heavily tinted windows in Paris, but these pictures show a sparse cabin with a considerable amount of carbon fiber on display. The woven wonder stuff is used for the dashboard, floor, pillars, doors and rockers while a single piece is shaped for the center stack.

2013 Nissan LEAF updated

Nissan has updated the LEAF EV in Japan for 2013 with better range, less weight and a new LEAF S entry-level model. Revealed in Japan – but likely to come to the UK from 2013 when the LEAF starts rolling out of Nissan’s Sunderland factory – there are significant upgrades to the powertrain which result in both less weight and better range. Nissan has had a play with the electric powertrain and made it both smaller and lighter with a new motor that uses 40 per cent less dysprosium (a rare earth metal) than before, and comes in 30 per cent smaller and 10 per cent lighter, and a new streamline battery case and a few other tweaks drops the LEAF’s weight by 80kg.
