Up for auction is a set of factory silver-painted five-spoke rims for 1998-2001 Mercedes Benz M-Class vehicles. I took these wheels off of my brand new ML320 with less than 5000 miles on it in order to install some new chrome-plated ones. I kept these rims in case I needed snow tires but never used them again. I have long since sold my ML and these wheels have been boxed up in my climate-controlled storage unit for more than 10 years.
These wheels are in like new-condition - there are no curb marks whatsoever. One wheel has a small ding in one of the spokes that is barely noticeable (it looks worse in the picture than it actually is) and another has a minor scuff that I can't even photograph. Neither of these flaws is visible from a couple of feet away. The center caps and valve stems you see in the pictures are included, though you should probably use new valve stems when mounting new tires.
These rims cost $400 each new from the Mercedes dealer, so you are getting a full set for about the price of a single wheel - and their price doesn't include the center cap! Even refurbished these wheels go for around $300 apiece. In particular, they are 16x8 inch, 62mm offset, 5x112 bolt pattern, one-piece alloy factory rims. The manufacturer's part number is 1634010202 and interchange part number is 65184. Tire fitment is 255/65-16 (no tires included, as pictured). These rims should also fit newer ML models as well, but should only be run as a set - perfect for seasonal mud & snow or off-road tires, which should be higher profile than the stock tires on newer M-Class vehicles.
These wheels will be shipped two to a box (two boxes, total) with a cardboard separator inside the box between each pair of wheels. Note that they can't be shipped via USPS as they have a 70 pound limit - UPS is the only shipping option. Local pickup (in Tucson, AZ) is available at no charge, and I might be willing to deliver these within 200 miles or so for the cost of fuel - contact me before bidding to see if this is possible and what the charge would be.

Chrysler is crushing 93 pre-production Dodge Vipers
Thu, 06 Mar 2014Chrysler has ordered 93 first-generation Dodge Vipers to be crushed, including what is believed to be the fourth Viper ever made. A Chrysler representative sent a letter to South Puget Sound Community College, which currently owns the Viper with VIN# 4, informing them that they must crush the car within two weeks. Automakers regularly donate unsellable non-street legal vehicles to automotive-engineering programs at colleges and universities, reserving the right to order the vehicles destroyed for insurance purposes.
Crackdown on 'distracted' drivers
Wed, 02 Oct 2013A CRACKDOWN on distracted drivers caught one motorist having a shave using a razor and a water bottle and a woman doing her make-up in the rear view mirror while on a motorway. The five-day police operation across the motorways of Hampshire and the Thames Valley resulted in 198 motorists being prosecuted for driving offences - most of them driving whilst distracted. Other offences spotted were a lorry driver brushing his teeth, two van drivers reading newspapers while they drove, one person reading a map on the steering wheel and two drivers using iPads (one on the steering wheel) as they travelled along.
