Eagle builds a new E-type speedster

By Alex Michaelides First Official Pictures 27 July 2009 17:07 Jaguar E-type specialist Eagle has unveiled the Eagle E-type speedster at the Salon Privé prestige motor show in London. The speedster, commissioned by enthusiast Dr Rick Velaj, uses a standard 1966 E-type as its base. Eagle then rebuilt it to a new sky-high specification, clad it in a one-off aluminium bodyshell, fitted it with its Supersport options (stiffer suspension, uprated brakes and modern tyres) and strapped in its own highly developed 4.7-litre straight six.

Volkswagen is finally delivering the VW Golf R Cabriolet Mk 6, just as the Golf Mk 7 hits the road, but it does without 4WD. But it’s taken until now – 2013 and after the Mk 7 Golf arrived – for VW to fulfil the promise of more powerful open-top motoring in the Golf with the arrival – following a Golf R Cabrio tease video at the end of 2012 – to finally reveal it. Just as you’d expect, the Golf R Cabriolet is mechanically similar to the Golf R in that it gets the same 2.0 litre turbo four cylinder petrol engine that delivers its power through a six-speed dual-clutch auto box.

Porsche Macan S Diesel (pictured) is heading for the USA When the Porsche Macan was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month, it came in three flavours – Macan S, Macan S Diesel and Macan Turbo. But only the petrol Macan S and Macan Turbo were scheduled for the US market. But that looks likely to change.
