The Simrad MX521A D/GPS Smart Antenna delivers position accuracy better than 2 meters in DGPS mode when using RTCM correction data. It also provides better than 5 meters accuracy in standard GPS mode. It is backward compatible with existing MX420 systems to make them compliant with the latest IMO requirements.

Space-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) like the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS), the US Wide Area Augmentation Service (WAAS) and the Japanese MTSAT Satellite-based Augmentation System (MSAS) are being developed throughout the world. The MX521A can be controlled to use these systems to provide accurate positions in areas not covered by DGPS beacon stations.

It reports the 2009 CTS-V lapped the 13-and-a-bit mile circuit in an impressive 7min 59.32sec.‘This blistering time appears to be the fastest ever publicly documented for a production sedan,’ says a breathless press release. And according to the records we’ve researched, they appear to be correct, although a Subaru Impreza STi Spec-C also lapped in 7min 59sec.It leaves us wondering who else is going to launch an assault on the Nordschleife’s 73 corners.

It’s been nearly two months since Jeep announced a special edition, and we were getting a bit worried. Luckily, on Tuesday morning, we were greeted by two new models—the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and the Jeep Wrangler Moab. The Trailhawk, which was introduced during the 2012 Easter Jeep Safari, will be offered with either a V8 or V6 engine and 18-inch all-terrain tires with Kevlar reinforcement.
