Up for bid is a used, in excellent condition, Sitex Sp-70 autopilot. I removed this unit from a boat that I sold. I then returned the entire system to Sitex to have all components checked out. All components checked out and Sitex upgraded the processor. This unit has the newest Teleflex SmartStik outboard rudder feedback system (a $450 addition). This does not come standard with the SP-70. The drive unit is very powerful and holds a course even at slow troll. The system as it is will work with single and twin outboard set-ups. It will also work with inboards with the proper rudder feedback unit (not included). Before bidding, check the specs for this unit at Sitex. My experience with Sitex customer support has been very favorable.

Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda recall 3.4 million cars over Airbag fault

Thu, 11 Apr 2013

As recalls go, 3.4 million cars around the globe is a big number, but it’s that big because a parts supplier - Takata Corp – supplied the same airbag part to Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda, so the recall involves all four Japanese car makers. The part at fault could cause the airbag inflator to rupture and deploy the airbag abnormally, although there have been no reports of injuries due to the potentially faulty part and just five reports of the fault existing – three in the US and two in Japan. In the UK the number of cars affected – and do note the recall only affects cars sold between 2000 and 2004 – appears to be about 75,000 for Toyota, 60,000 for Nissan, 15,000 for Honda and 2.000 for Mazda, and all four car makers will be getting in touch with owners during the next month to book their cars in for free replacement of the part.

Monaco Grand Prix (2011) RESULT

Mon, 30 May 2011

Monaco Grand Prix 2011 - it even had overtaking Far from being a long line of very expensive F1 cars following each other round the streets of the Grimaldi Empire, the 2011 Monaco Grand Prix was full of incident, accident and overtaking. Oh, and a dose of petulance too. Let’s cut to the chase: Vettel won yet again – from pole – and extended his lead to the point where many will say he’s un-catchable.

Subaru BRZ: Increased supply for UK market

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

There will be more Subaru BRZs (pictured) in the UK The Toyota GT86, and it’s Subaru BRZ sibling, have been a big hit in the UK, and around the world, with lovers of (almost affordable) sports cars that aren’t overloaded by tech and weight. But until now the BRZ version of the Japanese sports car has been in reactively short supply as Toyota takes the vast majority of production to fill its customers needs, but for those who’d prefer to take the slightly left-field BRZ route, there’s good news. Subaru has announced that they are increasing the supply of BRZs in to the UK market which means car buyers with a hankering should now be able to get a new BRZ in 2-6 weeks (depending on spec and colour).
