Ski-Doo Vintage Snowmobile Rotax-Werk AG Wells 399 cc Fan/Cooled Serial Number (Motor Number) 1987181 Made in Austria.  This is a type 401, Olmpique TNT Engine, originally used on 1971 Ski-Doo Nordic Rotax 399.

Engine comes with:
  • Original Tillotson Carb
  • Electric starter and soleniod
  • Ignition coils
  • Regulater
  • Exhaust system
  • Recoil Starter
  • Key Switch (no key)
  • Primary clutch
  • Engine mounting plate 
Condition:
  • Has compression on both cylinders and turns over easily
  • Wiring needs some attention - a few unconnected wires, and wires that need small repairs 
  • At the time I acquired this engine it was reported to have spark - I have not had time to verify this
  • Original engine was base aluminum, at some time this engine was painted black
  • Engine could use a good cleaning
Without looking inside this engine, I believe that it can be running without too much effort.  It is a complete engine with (carb, clutch, recoil, exhaust etc) and would make a good parts engine or could be rebuilt.  In it's day, this was a very well made and reliable engine.

This is one of about 12 engines that I have had in my inventory that are being listed.

This engine will ship in a specially designed crate which should be reusable for you.

This is being led by the C200, a Nissan Qashqai-style crossover SUV that will come in both two -and four-wheel drive formats. Production of Ssangyong’s first ever monocoque car starts in November 2009 and it’ll be on sale in the UK for March 2010, promising a cheap alternative to traditional makers.

Saab shutdown would doom new 9-5, 9-3 models

The new Saab 9-5 sedan and a proposed replacement for the 9-3 will be killed off if General Motors Co. winds down its Swedish subsidiary, AutoWeek has learned.
