New Jeep Cherokee: New York Auto Show 2013
Wed, 27 Mar 2013The new Jeep Cherokee has its official public debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show today with 9-speed gearbox and based on a Fiat platform. Now, with the New York Auto Show about to kick off (which you might reasonably have thought was yesterday after the flurry of activity from Jaguar and Land Rover) we get a full set of photos of the Cherokee and specifications. The new Cherokee sits on the Chrysler/Fiat Compact US Wide platform which gets independent front and rear suspension which, say Jeep, offers great on-road dynamics without sacrificing off-road ability and comes with a 9-speed auto box and a choice – at least in the US – of 184bhp 2.4 litre 4-cylinder or 271bhp 3.2 litre Pentastar V6.
Audi TT Roadster
Fri, 20 Oct 2006Following the launch of the new TT earlier this year comes its open sibling, the TT Roadster. Continuing to rebuke the trend for folding hard-tops despite even Mazda providing such an option on the MX-5, the TT Roadster perseveres with a cloth roof instead. Not only saving weight, this also means no visual mass protruding over the belt-line, though like its predecessor the roof adopts a more abrupt profile when raised than the fluidity of the coupe's profile.
Whos Where: Victor Nacif, VP Design, Nissan Design Europe
Thu, 06 May 2010Victor Nacif started his new role as Vice President of Design at Nissan Design Europe last month, having recently relocated from San Diego, California. Car Design News caught up with Nacif, an avid racing fan, at last weekend's FIA GT1 World Championship race at Silverstone, in which a Nissan GT-R piloted by team Sumo Power garnered the win. Nacif comes to NDE following a six-year stint at Nissan Design America where he held the role of Vice President of Design Business Aspects.
