Tue, 01 Mar 2011Saab issued one of the few genuine surprises of the Geneva show: the Phoenix concept car, designed to show the newly independent brand's stylistic future. Named after the Phoenix platform underpinning many of the company's future products including next year's new 9-3, the concept car is a dramatic coupe. It's the first car designed by Jason Castriota, the new design chief.

Wed, 21 May 2014The new Mercedes C-Class Estate (pictured) revealed The new Mercedes C-Class arrived at the Detroit Auto SHow in January and looks to be properly appealing – a mini S-Class and strong competition for the BMW 3-Series. Now we get the 2015 Mercedes C-Class Estate, which takes the new C-Class in to the load-lugging sector with a capacious take on the fine attributes of the C-Class saloon. A C-Class saloon from the B-pillars forward, the new C-Class Estate grows to 4702mm and gets a 2840mm wheelbase, enough for an extra 45mm of legroom in the back and with 490 litre of room for stuff in the boot with the seats up and 1510 litres with them folded away, and there are more options in between with new seats that split 40/20/40 and can be moved electrically.
LA Motor Show: Honda brings mass-volume hydrogen power closer
Thu, 21 Nov 2013HONDA has showcased its next generation hydrogen fuel cell technology, which is the first to fit entirely within a traditional engine bay. A 60% increase in energy density and a 33% reduction in size have jointly allowed the creation of the new Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) concept, which has a range of roughly 300 miles and can be refuelled in about three minutes. With all its components in a single location, the FCEV benefits from huge freedom in design for the rest of the car.
