Mitsubishi tease three new concepts for the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

The three Mitsubishi Concepts heading for the Tokyo Motor Show The European Motor Shows may be over for 2013, but the Tokyo Motor Show is still to come (first public day 23rd November), and Mitsubishi are already teasing new concepts for their home show (above). All three concepts preview the future of Mitsubishi’s design language, and all three are SUVs/Crossovers of one kind or another. The biggest of the trio of concepts is the Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV, a proper full-size plug-in hybrid SUV, which Mitsubishi says offer dynamic driving and features MMC’s S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) to deliver better handling and stability on-road and still be properly capable off-road.

Dassault Systèmes Design Challenge finalists announced

Anne Asensio and a team of expert judges have chosen the three finalists of the Dassault Systèmes Design Challenge 2012. 23-year-old Riten Gojiya's project 'Third dimension tour' made the final list, with Josef Ludvík Böhm's 'Aktivní Robotická Ortéza' also making the cut. The judging panel was also very impressed with Jakub Novák's 'Pedalboat' entry, which was enough to secure the final spot in the top three.

Nissan Celebrates 80 Years

Nissan held a little gathering at its Yokohama headquarters two nights before the Tokyo Motor Show opened to celebrate 80 years of building cars. It has been making them longer than any other Japanese manufacturer. CEO Carlos Ghosn, who can do everything except maybe juggle, addressed a crowd of several hundred executives, suppliers, car club members and even some media, giving his remarks in what sounded like pretty good Japanese.
