Mercedes-Benz OKs the CLS wagon

Wed, 06 Jan 2010

Mercedes-Benz will launch a wagon version of the second-generation CLS sedan as a rival to the recently introduced BMW 5-series GT and the upcoming Audi A7. "We're seeking to improve our returns by better utilization of existing platforms," a high-ranking Mercedes source told AutoWeek.

Internet driving sensation Ken Block joined racing drivers Mike Rockenfeller, Augusto Farfus and Adrian Zaugg to lay on a sensational four-car stunt relay called Blackout. Within the four-stage indoor course, the drivers had to face a major obstacle in each: the Laser Tunnel, Laser Drift, Slalom and Laser Box.

Using a Nissan Skyline as a donor car, he'll make a fiberglass mold of the print and hopefully transform this thing into a drivable, street-legal car for a fraction of the cost of an authentic DB4.
