Nissan showed off a fresh take on the urban vehicle with the Townpod concept in Paris. Part coupe, part commercial vehicle – according to a Nissan spokesperson we spoke to at the show – the Townpod concept features a clear product aesthetic and the inherent practicality of a van, without resorting to outright utilitarianism. Feds look at Toyota electronics as source of accelerator defects

The U.S. Department of Transportation is looking into whether Toyota Motor Corp.'s problems with unintended acceleration can be traced to defects in the electrical controls rather than just the mechanical problems cited by the automaker, a Transportation official said Tuesday. “We're not finished with Toyota and are continuing to review possible defects and monitor the implementation of the recalls,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement.

Taggart motorcycle collection to cross the block during Pebble Beach weekend

Auction house Mecum will sell a collection of Michael Taggart's motorcycles along side the classics, vintage racers and exotics this year at Pebble Beach. They all will be offered at the third-annual Mecum Monterey Auction on Aug. 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on the Del Monte Golf Course in California.
