Jaguar SUV / Crossover – new photo ahead of reveal

The second photo of the new Jaguar Crossover Jaguar started teasing their new Crossover - codenamed C-X17 – just last week, but we’ve already had the first leaked photo of the new SUV from Jaguar. That photo was just a full on front shot which told us not much more than that the new crossover stands taller than any other Jaguar and comes with a familiar – if slightly more butch – take on Jaguar’s family nose. But now we get a second photo of the new SUV ahead of its debut at Frankfurt next week (which turned up on ImageShack), and this time it’s a front three quarters profile showing us much more clearly what the new Jaguar has to offer.

98% fear UK road safety not improving

Research conducted for the latest issue of the Auto Trader Owner’s Guide suggests that a staggering 98% of British motorists fear that the government is failing to improve safety on UK roads. Of the 3,000 drivers surveyed for the quarterly publication, 77% also want theory and practical driving skills to be taught in schools, while 60% are convinced the coming fixed penalty fines for careless driving will do nothing to benefit safety. 2013 Nissan LEAF updated

Nissan has updated the LEAF EV in Japan for 2013 with better range, less weight and a new LEAF S entry-level model. Revealed in Japan – but likely to come to the UK from 2013 when the LEAF starts rolling out of Nissan’s Sunderland factory – there are significant upgrades to the powertrain which result in both less weight and better range. Nissan has had a play with the electric powertrain and made it both smaller and lighter with a new motor that uses 40 per cent less dysprosium (a rare earth metal) than before, and comes in 30 per cent smaller and 10 per cent lighter, and a new streamline battery case and a few other tweaks drops the LEAF’s weight by 80kg.
