Incorporating the kind of leading-edge technology usually only found in luxury European vehicles, SPAL USA has developed the AS-80 Keyless Entry System for increased driver convenience and safety.

The SPAL USA AS-80 Keyless Entry System (part #34500093) offers high-tech reliability, easy installation and a universal design that fits virtually all vehicles.

"Everyone is interested in increased convenience these days, and our AS-80 Keyless Entry System delivers that in a high-quality, dependable manner," said Bob Folkestad, director of electronics and innovations, SPAL USA. "The unit incorporates our company’s well-known state-of-the-art components and technology for a long, functional life."

With the SPAL USA AS-80 Keyless Entry System installed, vehicle owners benefit from blinker identification during locking and unlocking, universal power lock control, valet function and dome light control. Two (2) waterproof remote transmitters offer safety and control from up to 100 feet away, and an additional third channel is available in the unit for power window control or alarm functions.

In addition to the AS-80 Keyless Entry System, SPAL USA offers an AS-80 Four-Button Remote Keyless Entry System Kit (part #RE-4), which includes two (2) four-button transmitters, onboard parking light relay, code learning, dome light supervision, ignition-controlled lock and unlock, two auxiliary inputs and outputs, wiring and an operating range of approximately 100 feet.

Both a 2-Door Lock Kit with Keyless Entry (part #37000175) and a 4-Door Lock Kit with Keyless Entry (part #37000176) are also available, each utilizing the base AS-80 unit. These kits come complete with the AS-80 Keyless Entry unit, two (2) three-button water-resistant remote transmitters, either two (2), or four (4) lock actuators, wire harnesses and all hardware.

Each of the Keyless Entry and Door Lock Kits can be individually customized through the use of the company’s Power Door Lock components and accessories, including illuminated and non-illuminated switch harness kits, a polarity reversing unit and 2- and 4-Door Lock Kits.

The SPAL USA AS-80 Keyless Entry and Door Lock Kits also work with all OEM and aftermarket switches.

Spyker Cars is changing its name to Swedish Automobile N.V., and its new Chinese partner, Pang Da, is waiting for authorities to approve the investment in Spyker and Saab. Known for more than a decade as a producer of exclusive muscle cars, Spyker sold off its sports-car business in February to focus on Saab. The company bought the Swedish automaker a year ago when General Motors was on the verge of shutting Saab down.

Consumers rated Ford's new Explorer, Fiesta and Focus models at less-than-average reliability during their first year, according to Consumer Reports' annual auto survey. Findings are based on responses from 1.3 million vehicle owners or lessees who subscribe to the magazine.
