Spoke Wire Wheels, 15", British Cars, 1960s on 2040-parts.com

Denver, Colorado, United States
Condition:Used

Two used, 60-spoke, 15" spoke (“wire”) wheels, with tires.  For British sports cars from '60s, maybe '70s, maybe ‘50s.  Factory painted, not chrome.  One of these wheels has six missing spokes, one is complete.  One wheel has some minor dents in the outermost rim edge (only), the other wheel is dent free.  Rust is surficial only, not penetrative (grease on the rims has prevented rust, on spoke ends and splines).  Spline on one is good (I slid it onto a splined axle I have, and it seemed as tight as I remember from when I had cars like this).  On the other wheel, spline may be sl. damaged, as it's a tighter fit onto the splined axle.  One wheel has a Semperit summer tire, one has a Gislaved snow tire (both 165-15 radials), not too much tread left, but hold air well, so could be run or used as spares.   I don't have anything to spin them on, so I don't know whether they're "true" or not (i.e., don't know about "wobble" or "hop).  $50 (would consider selling singly).  Denver pickup great, but could be shipped for actual cost: they weigh about 35 lbs. each.

Hyundai Genesis gets Detroit 2014 debut

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Cars we don’t get in the UK 101 would have to include the Hyundai Genesis American-market saloon in its syllabus. It’s an upmarket barge of a car that we actually wouldn’t mind gracing our roads over here in Blighty – and, interestingly, the new car is destined for these shores. Think of it as a cut-price Jaguar XF or BMW 5 Series over in the States, offering loads of comfort, a decent turn of performance and plenty of neat safety features.

New BMW M1 isn’t happening

Fri, 16 Dec 2011

BMW won’t be building a new M1 A new BMW M1 Supercar has been mooted for some time – BMW even produced the M1 Homage in 2008 – but it’s not going to happen. We’ve expected BMW to bite the bullet at some point and recreate its mid-engined M1 Supercar. After all, car makers like a halo and, although BMW has some very impressive cars, they don’t really have anything like the Mercedes SLS.
