Peugeot 308 R Concept stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Peugeot’s hot new 308 R Concept hatchback has the new mk7 Volkswagen Golf GTI square in its sights here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The regular 308 hatch is also making its debut, showing quality Peugeot hope will rival the likes of Volkswagen and Audi, but with the rather racy looking 308 R, the French firm is after the performance crown, too. This year, the global automotive circus takes over Michigan's motor city from 13 – 16 January 2014, and sees the 'Big Three' automakers of America (Ford, GM and Chevrolet) lock horns with Europe's finest for show-stealing headlines. Mouth-watering debuts at this year's event include the BMW M3 and BMW M4, Corvette Z06, Lexus RC-F, and Mercedes GLA45 AMG. The new Porsche 911 Targa is also thought to be appearing.

Aston Martin LOST £24.6 million in 2012

In fact, Aston Martin sales in 2012 – 67,500 units – was still 42,500 down on its pre-recession sales levels of 110,000 cars in 2007 and that lead to yet another loss. Aston Martin has posted pre-tax losses for 2012 of £24,6 million on sales of £461.2 million for 2012, a worsening position over 2011 which saw losses of £21.2 million.
